A disappointing crop of turnips which ought to hare been swedes, but were not, was the primary cause of bringing parties into court in a case heard by the Chief Justice in the Supremo Court yesterday. The parties were Robert Archibald, of Bketahuna, farmer, plaintifi, and the Eketahnna Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ltd., defendants. Mr Page appeared for the plaintifi, and Mr C. E. Dix for the defendant comasked that an award of an umpire appointed under the Arbitration t ot, dated ‘March 30th. 1911, be enforced. By the award the association was to pay him .£GI Its, which sum had not been paid. The beginning of the dispute was that plaintiff had bought certain ! seed from the defendant company with the object of raising a crop of swedes. The turnips which actually grew was a mixture of swedes and pnrple-top soft was a counter motion to have the award set aside on the' ground of irregularity. , Decision was reserved. GOOD HEALTH.
