TROUT IN VICTORIA
It i- expected that 33,000 yearling trout will be distributed to various country centres by the Fisheries Department this year, and it is hoped that every year tho distribution will be greater (says tho "Argus”* The nomlxjr sent out last year was 31,0'*). During tho present month tho following supplies have been made.—ls,ooo to Lake Colac, which has never previously been stocked with trout; 1000 to Jamison River, ICOO to Bright, 700 to Tallanga.ua, 600 to Ararat,- 600 to Lancefield, 500 to Hughes’s Creek, 500 to Yarragon, and 400 to Bomsey Information has been received by tho departm* nt that 120.000 trout ova will be despatched to Victoria from New Zealand next ye-i.% These will bo placed iu the hatcheries at Roj r al Park and afterwards into the rearing ponds at StndLey Park and Royal Park.
