Sceptre was a great marc in her day. In 1902 she won the Two Thousand Guinean, One Tucu-a-.nd Guineas, Oako. and St. Legor. She is a daughter ot Persimmon

The price of 7'JOO guineas is a big one for a brood mare, but there is a good chance of it being a profitable transaction, as any yearling out ol Scentro would be sure to fetch a high figure.' i-mir is a bay in aro by .St. Fmsqtiin from Glare, and formerly raced in the colours •of Sir Daniel Cooper, who at one time used te race extensively in Australia. Among many other successes Flair won tho One Thousand Guineas of 1996. At the dispersal sale of her owner's .stud Flair topped the record price for a brood mare. Sir Daniel Cooper's stud was cold in 1909, and four of his brood marcs, including Flair, realised 37,200 guineas.
