POOR ATTENDANCE YESTERDAY. GOVERNOR. ATTENDS TO-DAY. COMING EVENTS. The inclement weather which prevail ed yesterday liad a very bail effect on the attendance at the Exhibition.. During the day only 875 persons passed through the turnstiles and the cash taken amounted to just a little over -kid. THURSDAY'S TOURNAMENT. The entries received for the seven-a-sidi tournament to be held at the Stadium or Thursday evening speak well for th« evening’s success. The tournament will be the first yet held in the exhibition, so there should bo a very large attendance. BOY SCOUT NIGHT. TO ASSIST THE HEPPLE FAMILY. , In. order that the fund for the reliei of the Hopple family might be furthc-i augmented a Boy Scout entertainment is to bo held on Friday evening. Various phases of scout work will be undertaken. During the evening the Mission Band—which is giving its services free —will render, a number of seleetons. Special tickets are beiu gisued and will be sold at Is 6d each. These will admit holders through the exhibition turnstiles and to tho stadium. The proceeds from tins* tickets are to he handed over to th« fund. LIVING BRIDGE. Preparations for the living bridgi pageant to bo held on Saturday nighl are proceeding apace,' and there is no doubt that the affair will be a success. A gymnastic display is alee to be give* by tho pupils of Mr J. W. 11. Harrison. WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP ON JULY 29th. The contest for the light-weight pro fessional wrestling championship of New Zealand, which is to take place on July 19th between Louis Robertson and Jot Gardiner is arousing considerable interest. Both men are very; fit, and thbouts are euro to be exciting. SPORTS MEETING NEXT THURSDAY WEEK. The - popular weekly sports meeting held during the first five weeks of uln Exhibition, but which were discontinued oiving to- the bowling and tennis tourneys, will again find a. place on the programme -at tile fStadium. The next meeting is set down for Thursday week, When the following events, open to ail who can sign tho amateur declaration, will be decided—soyds dash handicap one mile handicap, and potato race. On tho following Wednesday then will be held a Marathon race over a course of fifteen miles.
