SIR FREDERICK BORDEN

It is practically certain that Sir Frederick Borden will succeed Lord Sfcrathcona as the Canadian High Commissioner in London.
Sir Frederick William Borden, who is sixty-four years of age. received his knighthood (K-.0.M.Q.) in 1902, and in the same year was made a Knight of Grace, of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. Ho was educated at tho University of Kind's College, Windsor, Nova Scotia, and at Haarvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. Ho had a disMngaishod academic caro&r, as is shown hy fact that ho obtained tho degrees of is.A., M.D., U.C.Ii., and LL.D. Ho began tho practice of medicine in 1868, and is now Surgeon Li out.-Colonel anti an Honorary Colonel of the Canadian Array Medical Corps. He woe first elected to the Canadian House of Oornunong in 1874, and has since represented the same riding (King’s, Nova Scotia), except during tho years 1683-6, having been elected ton times and defeated once. Ho lias been Minister of Militia. Defence ranee 1896.
