It was only when tho vessel began to break up, and the men went in a body threatening violence, that preparations wore made to save those on board.
T.ho report that tho captain of the Santa Rosa brutally treated tho pas.wengerrs is denied'. The latest nera confirms tho report that only four lives wore lost. Tho rescued passengers declare that the officers’ mismanagement caused the disaster.
