SENSATIONAL OCCURRENCE AT TOULON. ATTEMPT TO EXPLODE MINES. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received July 10, 10.10 p.m.) PARIS, July 10. A during attempt was made to explode the submarine mines defending Toulon, the French naval station on tho Mediterranean. A quartermaster noticed that the door of tho chamber containing the electric wires used for firing the mines was open. He tried to enter, but was unable. When the door was forced two men rushed out and overthrew tho quartermaster after a fierce struggle. The sentries followed the men, who finally escaped to t waiting motor-car, containing a doselj veiled woman, and vanished In th< darkness. Tho sentries will be severe!} punished for not using their rifies.
