MORAL JONES CASE

Dr. Findlay Ims referred to his solicitors an article which London “Truth” published recently, violently attacking? the New Zealand Government for not compensating ~M okau” Jones, and . suggesting that the Government had taken no action because Dr, Findlay, a member of tho Cabinet, was also a partner in a firm of solicitors which was concerned in the Mokau case. Dr. Findlay informed me this morning * that his solicitors’ letter would appear in too next issue of “Truth,” and ho thought an action for libel would probably bo unnecessary.

A statement regarding the Mokau lands was made at Christchurch by Sir James Carroll, but the misreporting of one sentence rather seriously altered the whole moaning.
