LADIES’ EVENING
CajISIEKCIATj TRAVELLERS' ASSOCIATION.
Tho "Ladies’ Evening" of the Wellington Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen's Association, held last night in tbe association's club rooms, \yuh an innovation which proved thoroughly successful. About 250 guests and members were present, including eighty ladies, and all spent tho evening most onjoyably. The guests were received by livo president, Mr li. C. Tewslcy, and Mrs Tewslcy. A high-class concert was organised by Mr R. T. Robertson, and with Mr McLaughlin's orchea'r.a and Mr Holland at the piano, the performers were well supported. Members of the Savage and Orphans 5 Clubs rendered valuable assistance. Items were contributed by Messrs Atkinson, Oswin, Hutton, Searlo, Noton, FMcher, Newfon, Borneo Gardiner, Girdlestone, Mayer, Keenan, Isaacs, Tingey, Grant Collins, and Stevens. The simper and general arrangements were of the best, and many present expressed Hie* hop© that this gathering would only be the forerunner of others of a similar nature during the winter months. The president proposeda hearty vote of thanks to Hr Robertson, Mr J. Gower Chambers (secretary), and the performers, for tho pleasant evening that had been afforded the company, and tliis was heartily endorsed.
