Abraham and 'Williams, Ltd., report; On Wednesday the usual entries of Voef, consisting of good quality when finished, sold at prices ranging from £9 17s 6d to £ll for tho heaviest and £9 ICs to £9 15s for medium weights. At Addington to-day there were largo entries of Mock, and a good attendance. Beef showed a decline, there was practically no change in store sheep, aud fat ; lambs wore still firmer in price. The lat sheep market was very firm, pigs sold better, more was a poor demand tor store cattle, and good dairy cows sold *ceil. Tne yarding of store sheep was somewhat larger than last week, lambs forming the larger pan, the balance being mostly ewes, with a few pens of wethers. Ewes and wethers sold at late rates, and there was a better demand for ewe lambs, but in the absence of South Canterbury buyers other lambs did not sell quite so well as last week. Ewes sold up to 14s fo rtwo-tooths, (8s 6d to 11s 9d for sound mouth, 6s 6d to 8s 3d for full and falling mouth, and 4s to 5s 6d for broken mouth. Tho best of an entry of medium wethers made Us to J2s, others 9s 3d, email halfbrods to 10s lOd, and merinos 4s 9d. Ewe lambs made 9s 6d to 10s, m’xed sexes 7s to 8s 6d, ami email sorts 3s 6d to 6s 4d. The entry of fat lambs totalled 6184, or less than 100 more than last week. There was good competition all through the sale, the quality showing an improvement on late yardlngs. Export buyers were keen to operate, and took 5894 out of tho total, at prices ranging from 7s 3d to 18s 9d; butchers took 203 at 10s to 15s, an extra lot going to 19s 2d, a line of 64 went to a grazier at lls 3d, and only twenty-three were passed in. The yarding of fat sheep was a very largo one. and the average quality showed a hlile improvement on last week. There ■ was good competition for all classes, and prices wore firm right through the sale. -The range of prices was —Prime wethers 17s to 21s sd, others 14s 6d to 16s 6d, merino wethers 14j 3d, prime ewes 14s to 17s ba, medium lls to 13s 6d, aged and light 7s 91 to 10a 6cl. , ~ There were 431 head of fat cattle penned, including a number of lines of very prime quality, in consequence of the large yarding there was a weaker demand, and prices declined about Is 6d per 1001 b. Steers made £7 17s 6d to £ll, extra to £ls, heifers £5 17s 6d to £lO 10s and cows £5 to £lO 17s 6d, equal to 24s to 27s 6d for prime, 21s +o 23s 6d for medium, and 19s 6d to 20s 6a for cow and inferior per 1001 b. Pigs of all classes formed good entries, and there was an improved demand for fats, resulting in a brisker sale. There was a smaller entry of store pigs, and medium sized sorts sold ’ better, at 15s to 19s, while smaller pigs were not in such demand, changing hands at 5s to 14s. Weaners sold at 2s to 4k 6d. BURNSIDE. DUNEDIN. May 22. , At Burnside to-day there was a ©mall yarding of fat cattle, 161 being penned.
