At tho Empire , Day celebration Admiral King-Hall spoke of the need of ono Imperial Navy, of which Australia’s should he an Imperial division. Ho favoured a local navy rather than a contribution to tho British. Professor David said self-sacrifice had made the British Empire what it The Roman Catholic parochial schools celebrated “Australia Day,” and the Union Jack was absent from the display of hunting at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cafuedral. Mr Bruoo Smith, tho Federal Parliamentarian, declared that tho Cardinal’s attitude was like that of a person past childhood’s troubles being asked to forget his father and mother.
