Dr and Mrs Adams (Blenheim) are making a short stay in Wellington, and. are at the Royal OakMiss Marks, who had horn spending a holiday in Christchurch, has returned to Wellington. Mrs T. Cawto (Mahakipawa) and Miss E. Greensvll (Picton) are making a short visit to Wellington before they leave for the Wairarapa. Mrs Cecil Ramsden (Masterton) is on a visit to Wellington. Mrs and Miss Maude (Christchurch) passed through Wellington en route for Napier, where they will spend the winter. ■Mrs Martin (Levin) is on a visit to Wellington, and is staying at the Royal Oak. Mrs Hadfield (Waikanae) is , visiting Wellington. Miss Svbil Abraham, who has been staying in Wellington, has returned to Palmerston. _ Miss Ida Fraser, who has been staying ■with Mrs W. Kcbboll at Alfredton, returned to Wellington yesterday. . Mr and Mrs Eennell (Stratford), who have been visiting Australia, returned yesterday by the Warrimoo. Miss Macdonell, of Melbourne, is staying with. Mrs Kernot. Mrs W. Adams ("Langley Dale/' Marlborough) is staying at the Royal Oak. Mr and Mrs W. Cmickshank (Masterton) and their little daughter are leaving on a holiday trip to Sydney. Mr and Mrs McLennan (Christchurch) are staying at tho Hotel Windsor. Mr and Mrs Patton Frasor (Bahiatua), who have been spending a week in ‘Wellington, aro returning homo to-day. Miss Newbigeu (Hastings), who has been staying in Wellington, has returned to Hastings. _. Miss D. Redwood is the guest 'of Mw Hull, at Kelburne. Mrs-W. R. McLaren (Timam) is staying at tho Royal Oak. Miss Phillips (Palmerston North) is visiting Wellington. Mr and Mrs Ronnie (Timaru) are staying .at tho Windsor. This afternoon at the Pioneer Club an' address will bo given by Dr Edith Huntley. It will bo of especial interest to teachers, and to allow them to bo. pre-
sent the address Will be given at half-past 4 o'clock. Invitations have been issued by the St. Peter’s Club for their annual dance, which will bo held in St. Peter's Hall, Clhuznee street, on Wednesday, June 2Sth. The chaperons are Mesdaraes Bell, Gilmer, Perry, -and Sexton. The committee are Messrs G. Ball, A. Butler, J. Harrison, G. Lawrence, F. G. Major, A. L. Maysmore, B. W.. Millier, B. Walton, A. G. Williams. There were some smart dresses to be seen at the opening of the exhibition yesterday, hut the crowd rapidly became so dense that it was impossible to gain more than a fleeting glimpse of them. The official group in front of tiro audience consisted of Mrs Wilfotd, who was wearing a black velvet gown, large black hat with plumes, white furs; Mrs Fowlds, black coat and skirt, block hat with plumes; Mrs Ballinger, dark green costume, black hat with feathers; Mrs Fletcher, dark grey coat and skirt, black hat.
