AVIATION ACCIDENT
THE ISSY DISASTER SIMILAR OCCURRENCE IN EARLY RAILWAY DAYS. By Telegraph —Press Association—Copyright LONDON, May 22. Referring to tho disaster at tho aviation meeting at Issy, resulting in the death of M. Bcrteanx, French Minister for War, and serious injury to M. Monis, Premier, the “ Daily Mail ” and the “ Daily Telegraph ” recall the death of Mr W. Huskisson, M.P., at tho opening of tho Manchester-Liverpool Railway in 1830, and also the fact that six deaths occurred during tho ParisMadrid motor race on May 24th, 1903. Mr Fisher, Australian Prime Minister, has telegraphed to M. Monis his profound sorrow at M. Borteaux’s death, and condolences with tho relatives. Ho hopes for M. Monis’s speedy recovery. M. MONIS’S CONDITION. (Received May 23, 11 p.m.) PARIS, May 23. M. Monis’s condition is reassuring. He is still unaware of M. Berteaux’s death. ANOTHER MISHAP MANY PERSONS INJURED: FIVE SERIOUSLY. ST. PETERSBURG, May 22. An aeroplane fell among a crowd of spectators at Kursk, injuring . many. It is feared five will succumb to their injuries.
