■ FBOM CUE OWN COBEESPONDENT. , " . .. May 23. The Masterton Amateur Theatrical Society is now : becoming , a very strong body and has a membership of fifty. Mr Henry Burling, of Tiraumca, Alfrodton, is reported to have offered his property to the Government for closer settlement purposes. It is anticipated that a very large area of land will be put under the plough this season and that the'amount of crop put in will be greater than has .ever before been the case in Wairarapa.
