The works committee reported having visited Rossiter avenue, and recommended widening the formed portion of the roadway to 20ft, at a cost not to exceed <£loo. The property owners in Riverbank street should be instructed to put back their fences to the proper line of frontage. The offer of Mr to exchange a portion of his section in Alicetown to facilitate street widening purposes should be declined, having already been considered by the council.—The council decided to place a sum on this year's estimates for carrying out the work to Rossiter avenue, and the other two recommendations of the* works committee were adopted.
