MUTINY BY PRISONERS
SUMMARY PUNISHMENT ON BRAZILIAN STEAMER. By Telegraph—PrcssAssociatlon—Copyright RIO DE JANEIRO, May 21. The steamer Satellite left on December 26th last with 700 men condemned to deportation. A mutiny occurred on January Ist, but was quelled. Twelve of the men were sentenced to be shot. Nine were shot and three jumped overboard. A question on the subject was asked in. tho Brazilian House of Parliament, and an inquiry was promised. There have been two revolts in Brazil during the past few months.
