ELECTRICAL WORKERS
CONFERENCE WITH EMPLOYERS ASKEB FOR. The Wellington Electrical Workers’ Union has asked the employers to meet them in conference on Friday evening next to discuss the proposed basis of eu. award to supersede the one which has just run out. The union has appointed a sub-committee of four to conduct the negotiations on its behalf. Some of the employers have sent favourable replies, but no response haa been received from them as a body. A separate subcommittee has been appointed by the union to approach the City Council with a request for a conference respecting the electricians and linesmen in its employ, but no reply has yet been received to the letter sent forward.
