A worsts case of Rheumatism cam hardly bo imagined than was endured by Mrs Charles F. Carter. "I had four attacks of Rheumatic Fever in my life, and Rheumatism set in four years back in my right knee. It first came for a few days in my arm, then the left knee, and finally settled in the right. I suffered such pain that X thought I could not live. I fell away dreadfully. I turned a yellow colour. I could not cat, even the daintiest food seemed beyond me. I was in bed for months, and at last I was quite crippled. I would scream if , the muse wont near me, even to change the bed linen. I was too weak to move or sit up. I lay on one side for six weeks. The knee swelled tremendously and all the skin turned black and discoloured. I took chlorodyno till it lost all effect, for I could not sleep without a sedative. I would lie awake at night for hours. , The doctor said I had Arthritis of the joints. I never thought to walk again. The right leg drew up till the heel touched the calf of the other leg, and it simply could not ho straightened. Friends thought I was hopelessly paralysed. I used to bo wheeled out in an invalid’s chair for fresh air. The leg was bandaged in flannel and lint from above the knee to the foot. I had the kneo in screw splints, and I slept with a pillow under it- Friends used to call and fairly give way when they found how altered I was and what pain I was suffering night and day. My husband was dreadfully worried. They wanted mo to go to the hospital to have the leg put in irons. I was wheeled down and they said it was a case for the surgeon, eo I told them to wheel me back homo, and I wpuld die there. I had four different doctors, hut they had practically to give the case up. I had been suffering for eight months when I read of Dr Williams’ Pink Pills. I hadn’t any faitii in them, but thought they couldn’t hurt me. The second box improved my appetite and gave me strength. The benefit after the second box continued. I was walking on two crutches and presently I could leave off one crutch, and then I relied on a stick. I was simply overjoyed when I found only one crutch was needed, for I never thought to walk again. X got better with every box. I recovered so completely that I was able to take up business again and have had charge of a city business also for the last eighteen months, besides that wo have our own business in this centre."
