After being engaged to perform in ‘.'Egyptian Sacred Dances (says the Paris correspondent of tho "Daily Telegraph"), a ballerina broke her compact and was sued for damages. She resgted the c'aiin on the plea of illness. PaintiHs denied that she was seriously ill. The question which the court therefee had to consider was that of the possib, connection. it ar.v, between the dancer’(.state c f health and the size of the gannet which she won'd have worn in the ityptlan sacred dances. The court seems v have come to the conclusion that if %> haj performed the latter she really wont have helm in danger of catching a. freeh'eoid, for judgment was given in her favoii; aoMon as to damages for breach bl oon 0 on tract being dismissed.
