Tho Lord Mayor, Sir Strong, presiding at a notable''.gathering of the promoters at the Mansion House yesterday, said .that so far as ho was aware everything ho ate, drank and wore came from within tho Empire. At tho present moment he was pro-British, but not anti-foreign. It was natural they should want to trade with, their fellow subjects of the kingdom and their brethren throughout tho Empire,
