JUVENILE CRIMINALITY

"NEVEE HEAED OP ANT COMMAto- - MBNT.” SPECIAL TO THE **■ THLES.*' . ' ■ . OHEISTOHUBOH, March 23. The report of the Presbyterian Social Service Association submitted by the. Eev. J.. Mackenzie at the /annual ■ meeting of the association stated that It *was alarming to find so many . children in the Juvenile Court who appeared to have no knowledge of the Sixth Commandment. A little boy recently arrested for theft was asked by the association’s agent if he knew- the commandment "Thou ehalt not steal!” - He replied with ’ the utmost seriousness that he had - never heard' of any commandment. A largo number of the children .dealt with in the court had no Sundae school connection. The teaching of their homes was not helpful, and in the public school the !Wbrd of God had no recognised place. .In the interests of good citizenship, if not for higher reasons, it was evident that these facts demanded tho serious consideration of ' the State.
