LIFE-SAVING
Tho Lyall Bay Surf Club waited on the reserves committee of the City Council yesterday and, asked that a shed be erected on' the bea-ch at Lyall Bay, for tho housing of life-saving apparatus and as a general-meeting house. Mr W. G. Morpeth explained that the club had a membership of between fifty and sixty, and fif tho facility asked for were granted, the club could guarantee life-saving sec-" tions there available on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays. Councillor Luke, chairman of the-com-mittee,'assured the deputation that tho committee would recommend the council to favourably consider tho request. *
