Regarding the case heard-at the Magistrate’s Court here last Saturday, in which allegations of cruelty and ill-treatment of r their adopted child, Eileen Haynes, were made against Mr and Mrs Henry Haynes, New Brighton, a petition to the Minister of Justice is being signed by the neighbours affirming that the child was not, beaten cruelly or ili-treated; that Mr and Mrs Haynes have never been known to have unjustly punished the child; that the child always looked healthy and well fed, and was clothed well and comfortably; and that the- allegations of cruelty and ill-treatment are absolutely untrue.
