Mr Cecil Grace, starting from Dover in. competition for the De Forest prize for the furthest flight into the Continent, flew over Channel. He tried to beat Mr Sopwith (who flew from Sbippoy Island to Belgium, covering 177 miles), but adverse winds prevented his crossing the Belgian frontier. Mr. Grace then started to return to England. He was seen ofi Ramsgate, but has since been missing. A BRITISH RECORD. Colonel Cody, at Aldershot, covered 120 miles in 70 minutes —a British record.
