A petition for dissolution of marriage v;ao heard yesterday by the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout, petitioner being May Louisa Hartnell, ' Jjoordinghousc-kocpor, Wellington, and respondent, Walter Charles Hartnell, labourer, of- Christchurch.. Adultery was the ground of the action, Mr P. Leva appearing for petitioncrv The parties were married on January 2nd, 1895, at Christchurch. Respondent used to get drunk' and thrash• his wife nearly every. day. according to petitioner, and • she left him in 1903- Respondent in March,l9o9. had committed adultery with a widow at Christchurch named Mrs Weaver. • • • A decree: nisi, to be made absolute :o three months, was granted, with cost/ against co.-rcspondcnt. .. , ' , -
