S, McLean, who have been- on a motoring tour in tho South Island, have returned to Napier. Miss Ruby Well wood left Hastings on Tuesday for Blenheim to take part in the New Zealand tenuis championships, Mrs Raymond, of Auckland, is visiting Napier. ■ Mrs Sam S. Oliver, who has been: spending a few weeks in Napier with her mother, Mrs Waddell, leaves for home on Boxing Day. Miss E. Turnbull - left Hastings on Tuesday on a holiday visit to Greymouth,

Mr and Mrs A. TV. Short left Napier by tho express on Tuesday for their future home in Auckland, where Mu Short has been .appointed to the Auckland Grammar School. Prior to leaving, Mr Short was presented, with a handsome shaving outfit by tho pupils at the Napier High School, a volume of verse by the teachers and a silver cigarette case by Mr Poison, the headmaster.
