Tho match between tho South Africans and an Eleven of Australia was continued yesterday iu hot weather and on a perfect wicket. Tho attendance reached 8000. Hordern nnd..Matthews'continued’ the batting for the Australians, i who :at the luncheon' adjournment had lost . four wickets for 90. Jennings played a great innings, hitting brilliantly. He was at the wickets 123 minutes, knocked up seven 4’s, and was dismissed by a splendid catch. Hordern, Kortlang, and Macartney were in good form, but the others were .disappointing. The innings lasted three, hours forty-four minutes. Tho visitors’ bowling was good, but the fielding was only moderate, several catches being dropped. Africa opened the second innings badly, iu a fading light. Three wickets only produced 32 runs, Hordern's “googlies” disconcerting the batsmen.
