Gram crops in the Wairarapa are earlier this season than has been the case for many years past. On an average the ■ crops should turn out fairly well. In the districts in'’.West Wairarapa under the hills, where there ■ have been fine rains at intervals, the 1 crops will bo good, but towards the East Coast, where the drought was felt severest, the crops will be poor; infact, in many, cases, only worth ploughing in.
