GISBORNE SHEARING DISPUTE
PfiEBS ASSOCIATION. : GISBOENE, December 2. The Conciliation Council, sitting under the presidency 01 Hr llarie Giles, Conciliation Commissioner, to consider the demands of the 'Shearers’ Union, has arrived at a partial settlement of the dispute. Thirteen clauses were unanimously deleted from claims, whiht fifteen other clauses stipulating conditions governing shearing were agreed to, aim will fco sent forward to the ration Court, as recommendations - for inclusion in the award. Of the remaining eevcnloon clauses, the demands include rate of pay and hours of work, which are 'still iu dispute and will come before the court for, settlement.
