A NARROW ESCAPE
What might have been a serious matter happened recently to a young couple visiting Wellington. They had come to the oity with a view to purchasing the furniture for their new home, and had practically decided where to make their purchases, when quite by accident they walked into the extensive furniture warehouse of Messrs W. F. Shortt, Ltd., of Willis street, where to their delight and astonishment they found that furniture can he purchased from this well-known firm at from 20 per cent, to 25 per cent, less than anything they had previously seen, and not only wore the prices quoted by Messrs Shortt. Ltd., extremely reasonable, but they also pack and deliver, without extra charge, to railway station or steamer all goods purchased from them Needless to say, Messrs Shortt, Ltd., secured the order to furnish this now home, and have already received orders from others who have boon recommended by this young couple. Why this : well-known firm can sell their goods at, such reasonable prices is easily explained; The promises they occupy a to their own. and they have no largo salaries to pay ; for managers, etc., with the result: that they are in a position to sell for a much less profit than firms so situated. Those abonto furnish will; bo . studying their own interests by visiting this extensive establishment ; and judging for themselves the quality of .the goods ! supplied - and ■- the extremely reasonable prices charged.
