ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL. The council of the New Zealand Football Association met last evening, Mr H. |N. Nolmee occupying tho chair. Mr A. E. Gibbcs (New Zealand’s representative at Home) notified that owing to the length of tho. agenda at the last meeting of tho council of tho Football Association, the question of tho ropvo sentation of tho Australasian associations on the council had been deferred, but that it would ho considered at the next meeting. In regard to tho visit ot an English team to Australasia, the writer stated that he did not think it possible that such a tour by a first-class team would bo possible. An amateni tour might bo arranged, but ho did not think it likely that a team of this class would havo the desired effect on Association football in Australasia. 1c was decided that the secretary wnto to tho associations throughout Australasia with a view to obtaining their opinions regarding tho visit of a team. Lord Kinnaird, in a letter to the chairman, seated that ho had greatly admired the performances of tho New Zealand Rugby teams that had visited the Old Country, and expressed pleasure that tho game Is making good strides in this country. Ho promised to consult his friends on the Football Association with a view to ascertaining what can ho done on „tho lines of helping tho Associatlon gain© in this country.
