Tho Tramways Amendment Bill was farther considered in committee. Tho Hem. It. F. Wigram (Canterbury) again objected to clause 7, winch provides that full detailed pin,ns and specifications mast accompany each application for an Order in Council. He urged that the clause should bo struck out. After considerable discussion the Hon. J. B. Jonldnson (Wellington) moved to delete the words “full detailed, but was defeated on tlio voices. Tho clause ns it stood was adopted by 11 votes to G. . . In clause 8 there is provision for a fine where a driver “fails to produce ms certificate” when requested to do so. Ino Hon. J. E. Jonldnson moved to add tho words "without good and sufficient reason.” the addition Iming agreed to. Tho remaining clauses ot tho Bill were passed without comment, and the lion. XL F. Wigram moved the following now clausew- “Nothing in this. Act shal- apply to any tramway owned and managed L any local authority(Laughtor). Without division tho proposed clause was rejected and the Bill was reported, ’ read tho third time and passed.
