ANARROW ESCAPE
What might have heen a serious matter happened recently to a young couple visiting Wellington. They had come to the oity with a view to purchasing the furniture for . their now home, and had practically decided where to make their purchases, when quite by accident they walked into the extensive furniture warehouse of Messrs W. F. Shortt. Ltd , cl Willis street, where to their delight and astonishment they found that furniture can., bo purchased from this well-known firm at from 20'per cent, to 25 per cent, less than anything they had previously seen, and not only wore tho prices quoted by Messrs Shortt, Ltd,, extremely reasonable, but they also pack and deliver, with* out "extra charge, to railway station or steamor all goods purchased from them Needless to say, Messrs Shortt, Ltd., secured the order to furnish this now home, and have already received orders from others who have boon recommended by this young couple. Why this well-known firm can sell their goods at such reasonable prices is easily explained: The premises they occupy, are their own, and they have no large salaries to pay for managers, etc.,. with the result that they are in a, position to sell for a much less profit than firms bo situated. Those abou> to furnish will bo studying their own interests by visiting this extensive establishment and judging for themselves the quality of tho goods supplied and the extremely reasonable prices charged. Catalogues are now being prepared, and will be ready for distribution before tho end of the present month, and will be posted to any address on app^Ucation.-^AdyU
