Ait a meeting of creditors in tho estate jf William Miller, tho money-tender who ivas declared bankrupt lost week and who is now miasms', tho Official Assignee, Mr Fisher, read a statement made by Mr Evans, who had been in Mailer's employ, in which Evans stated thai it. was with the greatest difficulty -tihat he could ob*3ii« from his employer the necessary information to enable him to make up the books. He had never been given any information concerning Miller's dealings •with various properties, and there was no record of these transactions for the "last three years. He know Miller hail 'been hard pushed for money ajid a lot of his (Evans's) timo had been taken up in iobtainins temporary loans by exchange of cheques, etc. He (Evans) never had anything to do with various bill transafctioii* Ho knew tho balls were floating JiJbout, but no particulars were furnished to him.
Mr Moore said he represented creditors who hold promissory notes from Miller. It appeared to him that Miller got rid of nil the security ho could before he went away, and that the assets must be small.
The Official Assignee said some little time before tho bankruptcy the balancesheet showed a surplus of ,£SOOO. He would like to see thai balance now. . Chorug of creditors: So would we. Mr Esther: H tho estate realises SOOO pence we mil be lttcky. The meeting' was adjourned sine die.
