THE SADDLERS' DISPUTE
AnotheT hitch occurred yesterday to prevent the . negotiations between t3ie pa-ties to the saddlers' dispute in the Wellington industrial district being proceeded with before the Council of Cotnciliaticin appointed to hear the case. The Hon. J. Ban- appeared as special agent for the men, to act in conjunction with their assessors—Messrs. D. W. Muxrav, W. Findlay and T. A. Babe. The assessors for' the employers were Messrs A. W. Blanchard, C. W. Wytiherley and AVilliam Wiggins. Mr S. E. Wright representing the employers of Hawke's Bay. Mr Blanchard questioned whether the men could have tho assistance of Mr Ban'r' a-nd. ,on being informed that there was n-cthxng to prevent this, intimated that the employers would like to have their interests represented by Mr W. A. Grenfell, secxetni'y of the Wellington Employers* Association. On ; this account and also because the union had not", received official notice of the sitting of the council yesterday it was decided' to adjourn until Tuesday at 10 a.m. to enable the parties to make their final arrangements.
