New Zealanders desirous of experimenting in aerial navi(ration will find some useful chapters on "The Thoorv of Flight and the I'rinciole--, of Mechanics," feather witli'Eobert Esnault-Pellerie's ideas on aviation motors, as contained in a lecture delivered
before the French. Institute of Civil Engineers. The. chapter headed "lly Experiences in Aviation." is from Henry Farmnn's own pen. and is practically a history of his thirty-odd years of life, in which lie has surely compressed experiences sufficient to most men for many hundreds. The work is.kept as clear as possible from difociUt teehnicalities, and the explanations, ot zae functions devolving upon the various parts of the aeroplane and biplane are most interesting and useful. The lllustrations are very numerous, and form a most useful and attractive feature ot a volume which is wonderfully good _ value for half-a-crown.
