Tho " Evening Standard " says Cornish pitchblende gives a regular supply of radium, and that this is causing a'great fall in price. SIR WILLIAM RAMSAY CONFIRMS THE REPORT. (Received October 20, 9.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 20. Sir William Ramsay, Professor of Chemistry at University College, London; conhrms the " Evening Standard's" statement regarding radium from Cornish pitchblende, and gives the assurance that it will yield a continuous supply of at least 501) millegrams monthly for years. Sir William Ramsay adds: "At present the world's supply does not exceed five grammes. The new process of extraction occupies a couple of months;, hitherto a couple of years was required."
