A concert and dance in aid of Miss S. Hampson's candidature for the "Times" contest will be held in Guilford terrace schoolroom.
The Wellington Liedcrtofel will give its third concert to-night in the concert chamber of the Town Hall. The concerts given by tho Liedertafel are always a musical treat and much enjoyed by the audience.
On Wednesday evening last a progressive euchre party was held at Mrs Orchard's, Ma,w«on's . rooms (Cuba street). The same evening was also held a social evening iu aid-of Miss Helena Casey's candidature far the "Times" contest at her mother's house.
The gift tea in aid of the Levin Memorial Home for girls takes place osn Tuesday, October 23bh. The committee— Mesdames Anderson, Luke. Rutherford, Fell, Wallis, Hobv, Izard and Hall, Misses- Greenwood", Morra.h, Haaxling, Archibald and Young—are working very hard to ensue its success. The, gifts which it is hoped each visitor will bring takes.the form of materials, provisions, or subscriptions.
