FOSTERING FRUITGROWING
TRZBS iSSOOIATJOX. HASTINGS, October 20. The Fruitgrowers' Conference adopted rules and regulations for governing the federated associations. Officers were elected as follow:—Mr \V. H. Smith, president; Mr V. Cook, vice-president: .Mr \V. G. Gould,-secretary. Mr A. 11. Cockayne gave a practical demonstration on the emulsifying of oil sprays, flesolutions were passed that tho conference recognises the need for the establishment of cool storage in the principal centres; that the conference recognises the importance of fostering the export industry and respectfully asks the Minister to" again give Id a pound guarantee on suitable apples exported to England and Europe. Next conference will be held in Nelson province in (he last week of Or-tober next year.
