ROADMAN DROWNED
PBES3' ASSOCIATION. GISBORNE, October 19. Yesterday a young married man. named Watte, employed at the Pahiatua station, gashed his foot badly with an ase. While he was being brought to town for medical assistance the horae in the gig bolted. The vehicle capsized, and rolled into the river, tlie occupants being thrown clear. Alfred R. Wtokworth, a roadman employed by theCpunty Council, went into the river to liberate the horse, end was drowned. Watts was brought to the hospital at 3 o'clock this morning.
