BOUND FOR THE POLE
Two interesting passengers are on board the Union Company's collier Rohan oa, which is due at Lyttelton this morning with a load of coal from Newcastle direct. The “ passengers ’ are the two Eskimo* dogs, “George" and “Middy,"*that were born in. the Arctic circle, and are said to have accompanied Commander Peary to the North Pole. They were brought down from Van-, coriver in the Zealandia, and there transhipped to the Rakauoa for Lyttelton, where they will join Captain Scott’s Antarctic expedition with, the . other dogs which were brought down from Siberia.
