WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 10. (Before Mr W. G.,Riddell, S.M.) YOUNG MAN IN TROUBLE. A young man named Percy Revas was fined* A 3, with Gs costs or fourteen days imprisonment, on a charge of using indecent language in a public place. On a charge of damaging a gaol-cell floor ho was fined 20s and ordered to make good tho damage done, 20s. or seven days m gaol, and bn a charge of drunkenness was convicted and discharged. Station-Sergeant Darby prosecuted, and Mt 11. O’Leary appeared for the accused. i A SERIOUS CHARGE. William La very was remanded till to-, day on the application of Mr A. L. Herdman on a cliar'gc of carnally knowing a girl under the age of sixteen years. DRUNKENNESS. On a charge of drunkenness Janies Wilson was declared, an habitual drunkard, and sentenced to one month in gaol. On a similar charge John McCalluiu was fined 10s or forty-eight hours’ imprisonment. George Cooper Wilkinson was declared an habitual, inebriate and committed to.the Pakatoa Institute for twelve months. John Cameron was fined 20s. or seven days, on a charge of drunkenness, and on a charge, of violating the conditions of a prohibition order was fined 20s or fourteen days' imprisonment, . ’ ALLEGED THEFT OF BICYCLE. Charles Nelson, alias Charles Sebastian Newton, was charged with stealing a bicycle,- valued at JH 10s, from Robert Turner,-at Alexandra’ South, on March 13th last. Chief-Detective Brbberg asked for a remand to AJexandra South, but, Mr P. Jackson, .who- appeared-for the accused, asked the court to deal with the case here in the event of the accused entering b; plea of guilty. His Worship agreed, and accused was rcmanded'fcill Friday. Bail was allowed in JCIO, and one surety of a like amount. VAGRANCY. On a charge of vagrancy Catherine Thatcher was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. In the report published on the 13th inst. of a judgment summons oa.se. the name of the defendant was given as “H, Andrews” in. mistake for ‘Andrus,”
