INSTRUCTION IN COMMERCE
AUCKLAND CHAMBER’S ASSISTANCE. PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, October 19. The Auckland Chamber o-i Commerce decided at a meeting to-night to amend its constitution lu order that it might ioond a scholarship with a view to supporting the Auckland University School ot Commerce. The following motion was carried: “The chamber shall have power to take steps to improve and elevate the technical and general knowledge of persons engaged, or who. desire or are about to engage, in commerce or in any industry, and with a view thereto, to provide for the delivery of lectures and the holding of classes, to test by examination or otherwise the competence of such persons, to award certificates and distinctions, to institute and establish scholarships, grants, reward and. other benefactions, and to use and apply the funds of the chamber accordingly.
