JAPANESE FLOOD DISASTER
OVER A THOUSAND LIVES LOST,

Some idea of the extent of the damage caused by the recent disastrous floods in Japan can now bo gained. Official estimates give the number of drowned as 1112.
One hundred and fifty thousand houses were flooded and 3000 destroyed. The number of persons receiving relief in Tokio alone is 200,000.
