At Newmarket, a small town in tho County of Cork, there has been fierce fighting between supporters of Mr William O’Brien (leader ot the Independent Irish Parliamentary party) and supporters of tho Nationalist (liedniondito) parly. i Tho police were powerless to stop the ! disturbances, and a number of houses [ were wrecked.
Finally tho police fired on the crowds, a man being shot dead during the fusil lade.
