The taking 1 of evidence at Christchurch in connection ■with the claim for towage against the barque Solgran has been concluded, and the case adjourned sine die pending the receipt of evidence to be token in Tasmania. The auxiliary schooner Oroti, recently ashore at Tokomaru , Bay, is almost ready for sea again, her repairs being effected on the Gisborne slip. ' . The Norwegian barque Ingrid, which left Westport on March Ist for Matupi, arrived at her destination on April 29th. Captain Neilson wrote to a Westport 1 friend that the barque will be back, at the -West Coast port about the end : of July. the dbayton grange. The Federal-Houldcr-Shire liner Drayton Grange is to leave Dunedin to-morrow for Bluff, whore she trill discharge and load. The vessel will next proceed to Waitara and Wellington, and is due hero about Juno 9th. Prom this port the Drayton Grange will proceed to Timaru and Lyttelton, and is to sail from Lyttelton about, June 18th for Avonmouth. HOLIDAY NEXT FRIDAY. In consequence of the King’s Birthday being a compulsory holiday under the Arbitration Court award ths Wellington wharves will be closed all day next Friday. Only passenger traffic will be taken b> shipping on that day. ■ Under the Customs statute the Customs Department has no option but to observe . next Friday as a holiday.
