PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, . May 27. A largo and enthusiastic meeting of farmers was field at Balclutha to-day to consider tho proposal to establish a freezing works in the district. Statistics were quoted to -show that there was an amide supply of stock in the district to justify tlio erection of works. c ,TTig principal speaker was Mr F. Way-mouth, of Christchurch, who spoke strongly in favour of the establishment of freezing works, and who advocated pro vision being made for 1000 sheep per day. Tho prospectus of tho company, with a capital of .£75,000, was unanimously approved, and a sum of .£4OO subscribed in tho room.
