FOR SUNBURN AND FRECKLES'
For removing sunburn there is nothing so good as sweet cream, or sour muk, or milk turned with lemon juke will do as well. After bathing the face with it several times tho colour will subside and the soreness disappear. To prevent sunburniug uso powder on the face and neck before exposing them. There are powders and powders on the markets, some of them being very injurious to tho skin, hub one or the other of these simple tests will genarally prove whether or not the selected kind is safe. Squeeze lemon juice on a little of the powder-, and if it _ foam throw it away; drop ammonia on it, and if it contain lead in any Icixu it will turn black an'd is unsafe. Tho following are old-fashioned remedies for freckles, but none the worse for that;
To Prevent: Mix onoand-a-luUf ounces of boras with one-and-a-half ounces of glycerine, and -4 ounces of rose water. Kub over the face before and after exposing oneself to the sun. To .Remove; Mix two drachms of snlphocarbolato of zinc with three ounces of glycerine, three ounces of rose-water, and one ounce of spirits of wine. Apply daily, and allow- to dry on.
