In the case of removal to another district the fee shall be paid to the credit of the candidate at the college of the distr'cfc to which he moves, provided that he sits there for examination within two years." • Mr McCallum considered the - council would stultify itself by slavishly following a regulation of the Senate. if there was adequate power to vary the regulation to avoid hardship, he would support it. There 6honld be power to remit the fee if a student left 'he Dominion. The chairman could not see that there was any hardship to any New Zealand student in losing a guinea. The council had been informed by its professors that no fees were remitted in England. Mr McGinnity moved that the operation of the rule be withheld at the council's discretion in exceptional circumstances.—This was negatived. The report was adopted.
