The tender.of R. \v*. Bond, of New Plymouth, at .£3530, hag been accepted for the erection of the winter show buildings at Hawesa. The experiments that are being-made at the Wellington dock site, to test the settling strength of the concrete laid at the foundation of the structure, are still incomplete. It is loped, however, by the Harbour Board'a experts that finality in. this direction, -will be reacted in the course of three or four weeks, to the board an the results of the experiments. The Naval Reserve drilisnip" Pioneer; wiicn, ia to arrive at Auckland abont the end of March from Sydney, has . a number of vacancies fox men and boys aa stokers and Beamen. Intending candidates should apply at tho vessel at Auckland for medical examination on April 4th, ox thereabouts.
